And yet, here you are, finding more ways to scale the business to make more money online.

Do you need a blog to be a Instagram Influencer?

Why start a blog?

Why do I need a blog when I’m already making money on YouTube?

I love taking pictures for IG and I’m glad I’m making money for it. I hate writing? How many words should a blog post have?

If you’re asking these questions to yourself, today’s topic will definitely help you make the decision to start blogging now.

But before we jump right in, let’s define what exactly is an influencer.

What is an influencer?

According to Influencer Marketing Hub:

An influencer is someone who has:

  • the power to affect the purchasing decisions of others because of his or her authority, knowledge, position, or relationship with his or her audience.
  • a following in a distinct niche, with whom he or she actively engages. The size of the following depends on the size of his/her topic of the niche.

It is important to note that these individuals are not merely marketing tools, but rather social relationship assets with which brands can collaborate to achieve their marketing objectives.

Do you need a blog to be a Instagram influencer? 15 Reasons Why Every Instagram Influencer Needs a Blog Today

Why every influencer needs a blog

The first good reason is very simple: sooner or later, your fans may want to find you somewhere else aside from your social media platforms. Moreover, a blog is made up of blog posts that are relevant to your niche. Therefore, having one means you’re able to establish your credibility, influence, and impact on your community.

Below are 15 more reasons why every influencer needs a blog.

1. Diversify your income stream as an influencer

There are diverse methods to earn money from a blog, and it boils down to what kind of blog you have as well as what you personally want to do with it. Some of the main ways to monetize a blog are through

  • display ads
  • sponsored posts
  • affiliate marketing, and
  • selling your own products (digital / IT products or physical products).

2. Increase your online visibility

Having a website or a blog means putting your business on the Internet front via search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. This allows you to expand your audience reach which will result in more business opportunities.

3. An influencer needs a blog to build trust

We all know how easy it is to create a fake account on social media. But creating a blog is different. First, you have to secure a domain name, WordPress web hosting, and legal pages. Next, you need to customize your WordPress website, add web pages, personalize your default sidebar and footer widgets, AND THEN FINALLY, upload your blog posts.

People are very cautious these days. So, if they can’t find you anywhere, they’d probably think you’re not a real person. A blog will justify that for you.

4. A blog supports your influencer status for the long run

5. A blog allows you to repurpose your content

A YouTube interview can be transcribed and turned into a blog post, which can again be repurposed as a podcast episode, which again can be repurposed as a social media post. A blog allows you to never run out of content ideas as an influencer. In fact, I talked about this in a previous post.

6. A blog is relevant, timely, and up-to-date

A successful blogger knows that in order to be prosperous, you’ll want to create high-value content. This means that it is completely essential to design articles in which we share as much relevant information as possible, which will bring a lot to the reader.

7. Blogging is life-changing

Blogging will inevitably bring changes to your life. On the one hand, you will gradually start to break away from anonymity, which most influencers struggle with today. Imagine not having to get coffee at Starbucks without fans/subscribers asking to take pictures with you. You will, therefore, expose yourself to good and bad critics.

8. A blog can be an extra boost of confidence for you as an influencer

A blog is an excellent chance to produce a relationship of trust with other Internet users and to develop your own self-confidence.

9. A blog will make you an excellent storyteller

A blog can also allow you to give other people confidence by inspiring them through your own experience. Through story telling and personal development, a blog can be a perfect way to develop your skills.

10. Upgrade your media kit with a blog to impress potential brand collabs

Blogging is also a good way to think about the added value you bring and how you can meet a need, and it is the most effective sales pitch.

11. A blog can spark creativity

Starting a blog allows you to stimulate your creativity. You have to look for web design ideas, find levers to renew your inspiration and learn WordPress development. No need to hire someone to do website maintenance. You can take control of your business by doing it on your own.

12. A blog teaches you to be a more disciplined influencer

Blogging means learning to manage your moments of fatigue, confronting your lack of motivation sometimes, and forging personal discipline to move forward.

13. A blog changes your attitude and mindset as an influencer and online business owner

A blog is continuously at the core of an ecosystem where it is important to be inquisitive, read what is being done in a different place, and be nurtured by interactions with your readers or with additional bloggers. You often realize additional points of view through this environment, additional thinking methods, or identifying things. It enhances your attitude.

14. A blog will teach you SEO

Having a blog allows you to acquire very real skills that can be transposed into certain professions, like SEO. I had also spoken about it in a previous post showing you how to enhance your blog in a professional setting.

15. A blog is an investment with high ROI

As an influencer, your blog will help your business stand the test of time. As an influencer, you can’t settle with just taking selfies for IG. A blog will help you stay on top of your game, regardless of your age, career choice, and life decisions.

So do you need a blog to be a Instagram influencer

Yes, every influencer needs a blog because we need to keep our businesses afloat. Becoming an influencer is not temporary.

For me, being an influencer is a career choice.

Therefore, it is important for influencers to diversify their online business, not just on YouTube and/or social media, but everywhere on the internet.
