Ten Gifts for the Law School Graduate In Your Life

It’s officially graduation season and someone close to you is graduating from law school. You are so proud of that someone and you want to get them a meaningful gift but you don’t know what to get them. Luckily for you, I have been a law school graduate so I got the 411 on what a nice gift looks like. Here are 10 things you can get your grad:

C.R.E.A.M. Yes, cash. It may seem like it’s not sincere or that a lot of thought wasn’t put into it but trust me, your grad will appreciate this so much. There are so many expenses associated with graduation and even more so the upcoming plight of preparing for the bar exam. Trust me, they will be grateful for the cash.

Gift Card. The ultimate gift for any reason for any season. No further explanation needed.

Business card holder. To keep their business cards crispy for when they whip them out. They will be giving them out like candy now.

Fragrance. Nothing speaks “presence” like a signature scent.

Briefcase/ Tote. To help prepare for day to day work life. Your graduate will need it. Make sure it can hold a laptop, portfolio, and a case file.

Watch. An essential business attire staple with a vast price range. Whatever your budget is, you can surely find something in your graduate’s style.

Writing Instrument. For the classic graduate, make sure you get blue ink!

Gift certificate to a spa. A “break glass in case of emergency” gift to be redeemed during bar prep or after the bar exam.

Gym Groupon or Class Pass. It’s so important to stay physically active during bar prep but it can be so hard to keep it up. Make the struggle a little easier on your graduate by getting them a Groupon or Class pass to something physically active but fun. This can look like a kickboxing class or a barre class.

Meal prep plan. Literally all you can do during bar prep is study and sleep. For those 10 weeks that you spend studying, every moment that you’re spending not studying taunts you. Even when you’re doing something essential like going to the grocery store and preparing a meal for yourself. Unfortunately, bar prep can make you fall into some bad  Take some of the load off of your graduate by getting them a subscription to a meal prep or delivery service.

Bonus: Office Décor. For their new desk. An office décor set will have them hitting the ground running with organization and style.
Always remember that it’s the thought that counts. Even if you can’t afford to get them much sending a card with a heartfelt note can go a long way. Grads just want to know that their hard work did not go unnoticed.
